Anna Maconochie was born and raised in London where she still lives. After a decade working in production in the film industry and the BBC she began writing fiction and then turned to painting, in particular exploring colour and abstract themes.

My concern is the interplay between shape, space and colour. A 'dreamscape' is more than a landscape, although there are aspects of landscape in my work. It is an attempt to express the inexpressible and enjoy the energy of colour and forms, as well as their tensions, which always lead to a result one can't always predict despite careful structure and choices.
